Terms of Service
Last updated 20 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you — the parent or guardian who creates the account — and Remi, operated from Singapore. By creating an account or letting your child use the service, you accept them.
1. What Remi is
Remi is a study service for secondary-school students (KS3 and IGCSE) and their parents. It provides tutoring conversations, practice questions, marked work, and progress reports for parents.
2. How Remi works
Remi combines two kinds of AI model, both reached through paid commercial APIs operated by established Western providers. Large language models generate the tutoring, marking and written reports. Smaller decision models evaluate and filter content and help score mastery — they return judgements, not prose. Remi also runs its own deterministic calculations inside the service that estimate your child's mastery and decide what they study next. Neither kind is a school, a teacher or an exam board: Remi's assessments are informed guidance, not official grades, and examination boards alone decide your child's results.
3. Accounts and eligibility
A parent or guardian creates the account and consents on their child's behalf. Each family account links the student profiles the parent creates. Student accounts verify an email address at their school — this confirms the account belongs to a real student and keeps our cohort counts accurate. Accounts are personal to your family and may not be shared, sold or transferred.
4. The beta
Remi is currently in a limited beta. Places are capped; when the cohort is full, new families join a waitlist and places are offered as capacity allows. During the beta each family is limited to one student profile. Features may change, be added or be withdrawn at any time, and we give no guarantee of availability. If the beta ends or your place is withdrawn, your data remains available to you as described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable use
You and your child must use Remi lawfully and for genuine study. You must not: share another person's account; attempt to access other families' data; scrape, copy or republish Remi's content or question banks; submit content that is unlawful, harmful or infringes others' rights; or probe or disrupt the service. We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
6. Your content
Your child's work — answers, conversations, writing and uploads — remains yours. You give us permission to process it to run the service: to tutor, to mark, to derive progress insights and to report to you. We do not sell it and do not use it for advertising. We may use anonymised, aggregated data — which cannot identify any student — to improve the service.
7. What Remi is not
Remi supplements, and does not replace, schooling or your judgement as a parent. AI-generated tutoring and marking can be wrong; treat assessments as guidance. Remi's decision models also act as guardrails: before a tutoring response is generated they evaluate and filter what the language models are given, and the answers Remi gives to your parent questions are checked against verified facts. These checks do not guarantee correctness, but they are a deliberate layer between raw AI output and your family.
8. Charges
During the beta the service is provided free of charge. If we introduce paid features, we will tell you the price and terms before any charge applies, and you can decline — declining never loses the data already in your account.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Remi available but give no service-level guarantee during beta; the service may be suspended for maintenance, security or legal reasons. We may change these terms; for material changes we will notify you by email or in the app, and continued use after notice means acceptance.
10. Liability
The service is provided "as is". To the extent Singapore law allows, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of data, or exam outcomes. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is capped at the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which, during the free beta, is nil). Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
11. Ending the agreement
You may close your account at any time by contacting us; on closure we handle your data as the Privacy Policy describes. We may suspend or end access for breach of these terms, for security, or if the law requires, and will tell you when we can.
12. General
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have jurisdiction. If a part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Remi.
